Description

PEG-8 is a polymeric molecule built from repeating units of polyethylene glycol, commonly known as PEG, used as a solubilizer and viscosity control agent in cosmetic products. It is a clear, colorless, water-soluble liquid with a strong water-binding capacity as a humectant. This property allows it to help dissolve substances that have low water solubility, such as vanilla or fragrances, and integrate them into aqueous formulas. In addition, thanks to its moisture-binding ability, PEG-8 prevents cosmetic formulas from drying out, maintaining their texture and efficacy, particularly when combined with other hygroscopic agents like sorbitol.
